Madrid's official taxis are white with a red stripe; Barcelona's are black and yellow. Ranks at every arrivals exit.
App cars pick up in Madrid at car parks P1, P2 and P4, in Barcelona in dedicated zones at T1 and T2.
Say no if a driver asks you to cancel the app ride and continue 'via WhatsApp' or for cash.
On islands and in small towns apps often have no cars — call a local radio taxi or use the rank.
